Legoland Windsor Resort

LEGOLAND Windsor attracts millions of visitors each year and hosts a broad mix of families, children and international tourists. The resort required a comprehensive wayfinding strategy to ensure all guests, especially younger visitors could move confidently around the park and experience everything it offers. Wayfinder Ltd was appointed to survey the entire site and develop a child-friendly, intuitive system grounded in behavioural understanding.

Challenges:

Arrow

Large, busy site with numerous attractions, restaurants and themed areas

Arrow

High proportion of first-time visitors, many relying on children to navigate

Arrow

Frequent crowding at key intersections and attraction entrances

Arrow

Need for signage that fits seamlessly into the LEGO-themed environment

Arrow

Commercial requirements to support retail and dining visibility

Arrow

Risk of families missing key attractions due to unclear routes

Our Approach

We carried out a full behavioural-led site analysis, observing how families and children interpret space in an immersive theme-park environment. Simplified maps were designed around natural decision-making patterns, helping visitors orient themselves quickly and navigate without stress. Signage was developed to enhance the LEGO world playful enough to feel part of the experience, but clear and bold when needed. Our strategy also integrated commercial priorities, ensuring that shops, restaurants and key facilities were visible at the right moments in the visitor journey.

More Sports & Leisure Wayfinding

Every project we deliver is rooted in how people actually think, move, and make decisions. The results speak for themselves! Clearer journeys, fewer questions, reduced stress, and environments that simply work better.
