Challenges

Multiple user groups arriving for different events at the same time

Evening and low-light navigation challenges around the venue

Need to guide visitors seamlessly to specific theatre entrances and cinema levels

Variability in crowd size during performances, festivals and screenings

Requirement for flexibility across digital displays and temporary installations

Integration of wayfinding into a venue with strong architectural and brand identity
Our Approach
We analysed both daytime and evening user journeys, focusing on how visitors locate entrances, circulation routes and event-specific spaces. A clear, multi-entrance strategy was developed, supported by improved access to theatre levels and cinema areas. We recommended the use of digital signage for adaptable, event-driven communication and delivered clear, externally visible cues that improve orientation at night. Our approach balanced practical navigation with the venue’s creative atmosphere.

Results
The new strategy created a more intuitive and enjoyable visitor experience. Theatres and cinemas became easier to locate, crowd flow improved during busy performances, and external pathways felt clearer and more welcoming, particularly in the evenings. HOME’s identity was strengthened through consistent communication, and the venue is now equipped with a flexible framework suitable for both daily operations and major cultural events.
