Challenges:

A large, multi-level building with highly complex circulation

Multiple user types, including staff, underwriters, traders, tourists and VIP visitors

Areas restricted by security that required controlled navigation

Need for strong brand integration without overpowering the architecture

Inconsistent or outdated signage across different areas

Requirement for a robust, long-term strategy suitable for ongoing building development
Our Approach
Working alongside brand consultants Saffron, we carried out a comprehensive analysis of movement patterns, user behaviours and operational routes. We developed a complete wayfinding strategy and a new “family of signs” that reflected Lloyds’ heritage, authority and modern identity. The system was designed to be clear, elegant and sympathetic to the internal architecture of Richard Rogers’ celebrated design. We also defined strict brand and signage guidelines to ensure consistency as the building continued to evolve.

Results
The completed system delivered a refined, professional and highly consistent navigation experience across the entire building. Staff and visitors could move more confidently, security-sensitive areas were more clearly defined, and the building’s powerful corporate identity was reinforced through every point of contact. Wayfinder Ltd continues to support Lloyds of London with strategic advice and signage oversight as the site develops.
More Corporate Wayfinding
Every project we deliver is rooted in how people actually think, move, and make decisions. The results speak for themselves! Clearer journeys, fewer questions, reduced stress, and environments that simply work better.
